some came from the drop but most were taken just after the sinker hit bottom...close the bell and baaaam, you were hooked up. Was looking at the lake map and have found 4 more points that match this one. going to have to wait and check those out due to these storms on us. tcountry i think your right, we never lost a rig in this spot.

In humble reverance to the GREAT I AM! THAT I AM!
Nice mess
@boarbuster.
in michigan drop shotting is illegal on trout streams and salmon rivers any questions on this.. aka snaging is a practice known for removing fish not willing to take.. they consider it a snaging rig on salmon rivers even if there hooked in the mouth legally up here. see the rig makes it easy to floss or snag i am sure there are dictionaries on line you can look up. i am trying to keep it short so just keep it smart and don't do any thing illegal lol's. sorry about keeping it short see river current allows the drop shot to roll under 20-30 pound fish and all you got to do is flick the rod tip hard enough and snag a salmon which snaging is illegal in michigan. same with flossing were they floss the gums of big fish like salmon and yank the line threw it gum it is very un-sportmen like but people do it. the local department of natural resource gets plenty of rap line report about it every day the rap line is report all poaching line for michigan it on the back of our licences. any ways sorry for trying to keep it short... and not hijack the original posters thread any ways best of luck also lead could be illegal in some reservoirs like in California..
Ok jigolo I understand now.
FISH ON
To you guys who regularly fish deep water for bluegill, do you find that they tend to spend most of their time on bottom where a rig like this would be effective or does it vary per day or season of the year?
Bluegill do not spend all the time on the bottom. There are many productive ways to fish for bluegill . Drop shot is one that works under the right conditions. I'll chose to avoid Michigan.
Great report and pics.

Rambler we have been back to that spot and a few others and took some on the drop that time, would indicate that some were holding higher. Smaller fish though in my case. Biggest came just up from bottom above the bell sinker.
Had ad read where one member was using just hook in clear water but think for my case it wouldn't get past the dinks down lower before being snatched by a dink. May change tomorrow though. All I know is they helped me to prolong my gill fishing and put me on some nice ones.
Gotta love C.C!
