    Default Hey D10....Brewer lake question

Do you know of anything that can be done about the Vulture problem at Brewer lake? I'm paying $180 today to have the rubber around my trucks sunroof replaced because of the Vultures tearing it up. Someone posted on here about the same thing a couple of weeks ago. The folks at the body shop says they and the other body shops they know are getting lots of business from people having vehicles torn up by them and I just wanted to know if there is anything that can be done about it? There is a tree by the ramp on the north end boat launch that is usually full of them just waiting to attack the rubber on vehicles. I know they are a protected bird but was hoping something could be done about all the peoples property that is being damaged there. Thanks for any input you may have.

We have had a couple complaints as well. We talked to our Nongame Migratory Bird Program Coordinator and she says that it is probably young birds trying to get a feel for things. She also reminded us that they are protected. This lake is owned by the city of Conway and is under their control. They are aware of the problem. I am not sure what there plan is (if they have a plan).

Ok, Thank you for the response. Your answer is kind of what I expected but thought it might be worth a shot. I know it is under Conway control but also knew if anyone would know the answer it would probably be you. Does anyone know if the problem has happened at the south ramp? Guess if I go back I'll take my son-in-law and let him pull the boat.....lol....Thanks again D10.

Maybe they'll land in one of the parking lot potholes and drown.

Same thing happened on Nimrod at Anderson Branch last year. I do know there are Yell County rednecks that can take care of birds, protected or not if need be.

If the folk's who are suppose to take care of this problem don't take care of it. There is going to be some dead protected birds sooner or later. I hope wiser heads prevail before the vultures find out they are in season.
