My thoughts is to meet in the middle. Maybe go with a 11 inch for 2-3 years and if needed, then push it to 12 inch. This would give the 10 inch fish more of a chance to produce. Most of us regulars that fish Talquin stick to a self-imposed 12 inch size anyway. However. I often shake my head when i walk by the fish cleaning table at times. I got no issues with a couple of small ones for quick fry, but when i see almost 25 fish less than 10 inches (on a regular basis), it really pisses me off!
