    Default New Guy to forum

Hello all, I am a newbie to this forum. I have been looking around in here lately gathering information, so I won't be asking a lot of questions that have already been answered.
First thing I would like to do is offer a great big "THANK YOU" to all the posters on this forum for sharing information. And I guess I will brown nose here a little, but you have to give a lot of credit to the moderators for doing a great job also. It is really a breath of fresh air reading the post here.
Right now I am struggling, I have been fishing the oxbows from Hurricane WMA south thru Old Town Lake for years. I recently moved to Magnet Cove and have been trying to fish Degray, Catheine, Hamilton. Wow! what a shift in strategy. I really am having a hard time staying away from the cypress, but I know I can figure these lakes out if I just put enough time on the water. So far a lot of trips no success.
Anyways, Thanks again guys for all the info you have shared with me while I was lurking. And always catch your share.

Welcome to forum to start off with.
The lake you mentioned are some big lakes and fish is very different there. Get out and look for breaks out there. I live at one time there on Degray. I know there a lot of breaks off Caddo park. One of the best thing I could give you is get a guide for a trip or two and ask a lot of questions.

Most places I will have to agree on what Bowhunter said. Wonder where he heard that last ? Learn to read your electronics and most times deeper lakes means deeper fishing. Look for manmade brushpiles on your area lakes , some will even send ya coordinates if you have a GPS. Build your own or join in next group build. Bet your used to fishing visable structure on shallow water so it will be a big change. Welcome to the forum and post often . Just remember these guys will poke fun at each other and BS can flow freely so wear tall boots. Welcome from Lake Nimrod.

    Welcome.
You have mentioned some very humbling lakes. I am no expert on any of them. But, when I am on Degray, I head to Goat Ialand and the Shouse Ford areas. When I decide to go to Greer's, I look for a yankee boat with a slickheaded fellow with about 20 poles out.

Thanks, and don't worry about my boots being to short. I wear waders most of the time.
