    Default My Dog Was Beaten

My grandson would not give two brothers down the street something of his that they wanted. While these little monsters were mad at him they decided to come back that night while my little dog was outside on his cable to do his business and beat him. He is not a bad dog and he does not bite. The only reason he goes out on the cable was to keep him from going to the road and getting ran over by a car. This dog weighs less than 12 pounds. I had heard them talking but figured they had came to talk to the grandson and didn't get up then the voices went away. I didn't think anything about it until I went to bring him in. I bumped him with the door and he yelped. When I touched him he cried out. I then discovered that the cable end that was attached to the porch had been disconnected and was laying straight out in a line into the yard. They had taken him out a ways to beat him and that is why I did not hear him cry out. The fact that these boys are between 10 and 14 is the only reason they are still walking. When they turn 18 it will be best for them if they do not live here. Charlie may have been the one beaten but I will be the one to deliver their birthday present from Charlie when they turn 18. Charlie has been hurt so bad that he just stands and does not sleep laying down. Unless I can get him in the right position andlay him down. He just stands there. He is so tired that when his hips start to drop and he picks himself back up I know he is fighting sleep because of the way he feels and the way he hurts. I feel so bad for him. I am sure I needed to take him to a vet but being out of work and having run out of Unemployment benefits I just don't have the money. He seems at times to be doing better but I am not sure. Its only been two days. These little monsters have a special place in Hell as far as I am concerned. I am planning to buy Charlie a Rottweiler for his own protection. One that Will BITE at the drop of a hat. Actually all it will have to do is waver a little.

Don't be too proud to get the law involved, it's what they are there for and your tax dollars pay for them. Some states have stiff penalties for animal cruelty.

Sorry about the dog. Dogs are tough they will bounce back. As far as those juveniles are concerned the law won't and can't do a thing to them except pick them up and call there parents to have them come and take them home. Only justice you can get is have charges brought against them and let there parents take off work and pay the court fines and fees. Won't cost you nothing. The other justice is take a belt to both of them boys but soon as you do you will be charged with assault on a minor. I would make there parents pay the fines instead. Every time there on your property trespassing charges should be filed. That's more fines and taking off work for there parents. All you can do. Get you a trail camera and put it up they will be back. They laws in this country for juveniles are pathetic they can get away with everything under the sun except shooting a human being. That's mississippi anyway. I've had my share of dealing with this subject.

Call the law and get the parents involved. Call the Humane society and they can probably steer you to a vet that will help you out with the bill part.

I agree d with Cray. Law might be slacking but I can't help but think the humane society would love to jump on this. Just my 2 cents. what kind of animal would do this to a helpless dog. Burns my you know what.

Pics and a good reporter for the local paper will go a long way. Channel 3 with '3 on your side' is another place to go. Humane Sociaty will surly want to get involved. At least get the parents involved, and hope they give a dang.
Its sad to think our society has sunk to this level. Infrared trail camera will produce undeniable proof in the future.
