    Default GPS Applications for Iphone?

There's a lotta smart people on here so I'll try asking this here first. I need to upgrade my phone and was thinking about an Iphone. My wife and daughter as always raving about theirs.

I was wondering - are there any good GPS Apps for an Iphone that would allow me to use my phone for GPS waypoints collections? Possible map/charting options?

    Anybody run across any?

    Thanks

There are apps for gps. Grab your wife's phone and search for an app before you get the phone. I know my EVO phone uses lots of battery. May need to make sure your boat has a power outlet.

I can't say about the I phone but I have a Android, a Samsung mesmerize. Awesome is all I can say. I have been using an app called GPS now. Seems to work really good. I can save waypoints and then load them right onto google earth on my home PC. On my phone I can pull up google earth and veiw my waypoints right on it.

MotionX is my favorite by far. Can mark it, snap a picture of it to save as the waypoint, etc. Got it last fall, lots to do with it I havent figured out yet. I can tell you though that you can see a visual on my phone of the structure you are fishing that is now under 12 ft of water on Sville that was taken at winter pool level. You can also look at the view from each of my deer stands. I also just recently got the navionics app. But havent monkeyed with it yet!

There was a pretty good App article on BoatUS site. I have the Navionics East and think its worth the $13, I have an Android phone and while not the most accurate GPS it will get you 'close'
