O man I had some good times on that dock when I was a kid:D

Did it look like they made any improvements to the ramp? I know you can get a full size boat in there just don't know how much of a pain it is.

I launched my kayak from the ramp around 5pm....ominous looking sky so I stayed near the ramp. Went directly across the lake and found some branches in the water. Started out promising as I hooked up within my 3rd cast, it was a smaller bass, jumped & got off. Then I found a nice blowdown and snagged on it....had a really hard time fighting the wind, it was blowing 20-30mph in gusts. I ended up breaking off my rod tip while trying to free it.

So that just amplified the anger surrounding fighting the wind. Started with rod #2 and felt a few rain drops so I went closer to the ramp. There was this teenage kid standing on the dock at the ramp dropping f-bombs into his cell phone as loud as he could. Mother F this, mother F that. Soon two other kids about his age showed up and they sat there on the dock while the original kid yelled into his cell phone that he was going to "kill your m f'n a$@#" to whoever was on the phone.

Finally I had enough and just went back to the truck.

I'll try again some other time.
Sounds like a tough trip. Some people have no respect for others. Better luck next time.

ekim I was out inthe back yesterday all day with the smoker's going dont recall all that wind but the lake is kinda open there at the ramp...I would suggest one of these poles and it has lots of options from dedocking to tip strength......

LOL yea I might need one of those.

Fishman, the dock looked fine from what I saw. The ramp looks like it's very short....They have posts on both back corners showing where the ramp ends. It's not very far back in the water. I don't think I'd launch anything bigger than a short jonboat in there, that's for sure.

I stopped by the swamp ends on my lunch break today and casted a bit. There's a good current coming via the culvert pipe from the swamp across the creek. No takers.

So far I've yet to catch a fish out of this lake.....but had lots of hits.

There is some deep water where those pipes dump into the lake. Usually can pick up a few LMB this time of year around there. At least you used to be able to.

Yea I think so Corker. The only one that I even felt like I had a remotely decent hookset on turned out to be a small bass, about less than a lbs that threw the hook.
