I have had my best luck fishing the North Landing River during the warmer months. Never any luck otherwise. Digging into my logs, the following dates show how many crappie I caught that day in the winter/spring.....

5/9/2015-3 crappie, surface water temp 75.
3/25/2017-5 crappie, surface water temp 52.
1/27/2018-0 crappie, surface water temp 43.
1/6/2019-0 crappie, surface water temp 51.

Never anything bigger than 1lb 4oz. I have had some luck at one spot up West Neck Creek and have fished Blackwater Creek but don't feel safe with the winding turns and bass boats screaming by around the blind bends. One of our members has had luck up the Blackwater Creek but moved out of the area.
