Those things can destroy a crappie population--and probably the YP, too. They reproduce faster than the more desirable panfish, compete for the same food sources, and feed on the eggs of the desirable species when they spawn. A few of the WP might grow to a usable size and they are good eating, but for lack of food, most of them will be stunted and never reach a harvestable size. Every one caught should be tossed in the woods, killed and returned to the lake to feed the fish hawks and turtles, or used as cut-bait to fish for monster-size gars.
