    We call those coon tail perch where I'm from. Anybody else call them something different?

    .We know them as lake perch or yellow perch.
    Everyone around here (SC low country) call em red Finn. I see TV shows and hear people say they are good eating. Most people I know just kill them, call em bait steelers and claim em to be bony. I've never tried em, but most of em caught on Santee Cooper where I fish are 4" to 6". Every blue moon you catch one around a lb.

    They are some of the best eating fish you will find. I wish we had them in middle TN, I'd fish for them all the time.
