Happy Veterans Day to all of you have; are and will serve this great country. Thank you so much for being one of my family's biggest blessings. I grew up safe and my kids are doing the same. I can't even tell you how much that means to me. Thank you.

This morning at my daughters elementary school we had our annual Veterans day performance. The entire 3rd and 4th grade got up on the risers, dressed in Red, White and Blue and belted out 6 songs. In between each song, a few kids would get up for solos. Each one a speaking part saying thank you or telling what freedom and sacrifice means. Two of them sang the Preamble to the Constitution followed by a rap of the meanings of that paragraph. Three 5th graders, one of which is my girl, got asked to open the show by singing the National Anthem, that was right after the Color Guard presented the Colors (swords drawn). Man-O-Man what a great show. I run the sound system and take pictures for our yearbook. I spent most of the show snapping pics thru blurry eyes. I sincerely wish I had permission to post pictures and video from the show, because it would stand a good chance of brightning your day. All those times we think that our little part of the world has gone to hell in a hand-basket, I promise you it has not. There is good.....old fashioned.....good hearted....common-sense-having....adults leading some fine kids. I'm so proud of every one of them. I wish you could see 200 of them with their hands over their hearts. Or giving a salute during just the right moment.............

So anyway, sorry to ramble. Thank You to all of you that did your part. Thank You so much.

    Dayton and family.

You have my permission to post it on C.C. Or is it the school's permission you need? I would love to see it.

Thank Bill. Yea, it's the school. Well, I just don't want to post pics of other people's kids without their permission.

I can, however, give you this link to a middle school band, opening up the local High School battle of the marching bands. I had permission to upload this one. My boy is holding the more yellow (left) giant tube or zeusaphone.

Thanks Dayton. Those kids are really good for as young as they are.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Dayton. It's comforting to know that some of today's young people are learning about the history and traditions of this great nation.

Thanks Dayton. I thought that when I went in country I would never make six months. Made it out alive with a little damage seen and some that you cant see. But if I were asked to do it again I would carry this old set of bones to where ever they sent me. I also understand you feelings with the kids as I felt the same with the scouts. God bless, everyone that served, is serving.
