    We must have the same phone. I've had several bass do the same thing but never been able to land one. WTG on the release.

    I've actually trolled 8-10 inch crappie as bait for big bass here on a local lake. My best day was 5 that weighed 38 lb! big girl was 10 lb 10 oz!

    back in late 70's maybe early 80's I was fishing on lake norman in a little boat with only paddle power- we was paddling from 1 cove to another with bout 5-6 crappies on a stinger behind the boat(old school stringer no snap hooks) when something slammed it so hard it rocked the boat- all the crappies was stripped off the stinger 'cept for a couple of heads- to this day I still wonder what that was!
    My wife swears I only do enough surveying to support my hunting & fishing because I'm too busy hunting & fishing !
