    Default Suffolk Lake 7-20

Hit one of the lakes in Suffolk yesterday morning. Tough day. I caught six crappie total (4 keepers 11 1/2 - 12"). All my bites were in 7-8 FOW. I missed a ton of bites, so I know the fish where there, they just weren't taking the jig well. Color didn't matter as all six came on something different. Just a strange bite. Still had a good time with great weather. Maybe next time.

I'm sure glad someone is fishing the suffolk lakes. I have only gone a few times this year in suffolk and I sure do miss it. I hope to take a my 8 year old grandson with me this sat to Mead. This will be his first trip in my boat. I just hope he likes it as much as daughter did. Good report Kevin!!!!

Similar luck for me, I caught a whole 3 crappie at Western Branch on Saturday in just under 5 hours. Last year I averaged 43 crappie per trip and this year am only averaging 17. My 3 were caught near some stumps at the end of a point 10'-13' down.

I had the same problem last Thursday, I caught 23 crappie but I missed at least that much because of the lite bite.

I did have some light bites but figured it was bluegill.

Wife and I have been fishing Burnt Mills almost every evening from 6pm till dark. Averaging 25-30 with quite a few in the 11-12" range. Since I got out of bass tournaments I have learned to enjoy myself. We are trolling 1/8 oz jigs using both bright orange and pink tubes.
