    Default Lake Talquin slabs

Fished with a good friend from Alabama today and had some real nice slab crappie. All fish were caught on jigs in 25' to 35' FOW long lining with 1/4 oz jigs. You have to use larger jigs in order to get them down to where Talquin and then on to lake Crescent for the rest of December.

    Some of the nice slabs.

My friend Jack with a few.

How did you figure out longlining with 1/4 oz jigs in that deep of water? Locals help? I would have been spiderrigging... Wouldn't have thought to try longlining 1/4 oz ers

    Great report, and nice fish!

I have some friends that fish Talquin a lot and they told me how they were catching them. I tried tight lining for 2 or 3 days and didn't have great luck so I change every thing to long lining. I have a chart that tells you the weights and how deep they will run at a given speed, pretty cool.

Great pictures Vic!!! It sure looks warm there compared to what it's like here. I'm like Bennett I would like to see that chart you are talking about. I have read a lot about lake Talquin. Sounds like a awesome lake to fish. As for the New Year I hope you get that three pounder. Now be safe and have a great time.

The chart was put together by a friend of a friend who took the time to figure all the calculations out and put on paper. I have a copy of it and it is laminated. No way to send to you, maybe when I get back I'll share it with some of you.

Way to go Mr. Vic! Sounds like your learning some new tricks. Weather does look real nice. Been getting some freezing rain and such here
