    Default Butchers Creek report

We fished Butchers Friday an had a couple dozen nice keepers up to a pound. They were on brush in 20-30fow that topped out at 8-15ft. The World Famous FishDoc Bucktail seemed to be the best bait and vertical jigging accounted for the most bites. Seems they movin to the creeks a little earlier than usual.

Is it your summer time experience that it's a real challenge to catch crappie over 1lb? Of my last 533 crappie caught fishing 7 different bodies of water zero were at 1lb or more. It's been since July 6 since I have caught two that big and they only went 1lb 1oz and 1lb 2oz.

I have been finding same Tap but I have mostly just been finding spots not really fishing them the way I should. The bigger fish have been really deep (which is hard to make a good presentation) or at night. I am just waiting on the fish to start hitting the creeks again on buggs. If you find the deepest water thats where they are if you can get them to bite.

I saw your truck going up 58 Friday evening. Caught some on main channel brush piles Sunday. Spent most of the weekend Feeding and taking care of kids, grandkids and other visitors.

I tried my favorite 2 BGBS yesterday and didn't get a bite. I then changed over to Gene's bait and caught 10 nice ones over a brush pile we put out last Thursday.

WT was 75.3*, fish were in 15 FOW about 8' down.
