Tap, yes, Its rare to catch many over a pound durin the summer period. my opinion, the big ones suspend an chase open water bait. I did catch a 16 inch, 2 pounder off a pile in Eastland the 1st wk of Aug., 25ft deep. My biggest ever was caught 28ft deep in Aug, 3 lb 12 oz. So it is possible, but as I said , rare. I have my best luck on bigguns in the summer up near the rivers, caught a 1 1/2 and a 1 3/4 on back to back cast up there the same wk I caught the biggun in Eastland. I plan to try trollin cranks in open water to check my theory out. slsbin, I seen you also, and thats all we caught there was dinks. had our best luck that day up Butchers.

Randy, I fed the family(extended version) Monday, caught a 24 1/2 inch walleye at Philpott yesterday, poured a couple hundred jig heads today an now I'm takin a break from tying a bunch of those World Famous FishDoc Bucktails for this w/e. I still gotta change line on a half dozen crappie rods, change hooks an add swivels an split rings to a bunch of Hopkins...its always sumthin!
