    Default crappie eater

No wonder we can't find crappie in here. 47 inches, 20+ pounds, released to eat some more crappie. The brown bass were hot too, we caught 57, had 2 citation sm and 1 for the musky. Everything went back to the riva.

I had a six day run, fished Staunton River for stripers, Breiry Creek for some other fish, and three days on the James River, what a week. Caught a weird fish in the Staunton, 20 inches, about 6 pounds, DGIF guy says its a Buffalo. Looked like a huge minner to me. Should have kept him for musky bait.

We caught the end of the striper run, 10 one day, 6 the next and then just 2. Got the news too late, always next year. I used to chase them but have not fished there for 15 years.

It was a great week, shame its over. Back to work Tuesday. Caught about 200 fish and kept just one striper for supper. No fishing today but tomorrows coming...............good luck if you get to go.

Oh I forgot a picture, landed two sm on the same plug, only the second time I've done it, have hooked two lots of times but one always got off. This was a 2 pounder and a 1-1/2 pounder, heck of a pull.

I know Tap will be here soon with his "inferior fish" comment, but I say way to go, that's a nice bunch of pics.

Just them green ones inferior, nothing bad about how fish like these pull in the fast current. Pound for pound a smallmouth beats about any freshwater fish that swims, except for the ones that eat everything else, like a musky, they make everything else just bait. Like hooking your line to the bumper of a truck headed down the highway. And then he jumps and so does your heart. I love crappie but they ain't all that tugs. And these fish live just 20 minutes from my house.

Pound that buffalo with mallet, let him set awhile. Cut him up to chunkbait and its Great bait for cats, Gar, and Muskie!
