I have never caught a bowfin in BM. I didn't even know they were in there.

My friend and I hit Burnt Mills last Friday (5/10/13). We wanted to catch all manner of panfish and we did exactly that. I wanted to buy some crickets but we couldn't find them so we ended up with red wigglers. We shouldn't have bought those either as they weren't needed. We spent the day fishing from seven FOW and shallower. While the worms caught plenty, the fish were generally smaller than what the jigs caught. Not sure how many we caught, but it was easy pickings. We ended up catching shellcracker, bluegill, crappie, yellow perch, warmouth, bass, pickeral and one bowfin. Our jigs were 1/32 and 1/16 oz. unpainted lead heads with any number of plastics. Overall, a smoke color was better in the morning when it was heavily overcast and a junebug/chartreuse worked best when the sun poked out.

Thanks for the report, Kevin. It sounds like you and your friend enjoyed a good day of fishing. I am thinking about giving BM a try this coming Friday.
