    Default Bdr 5/16/13

I fished 8:30 to 1:30. I was mostly fishing minners.. Things were fast a furious when I first got on water, picked up 9" crappie 10' away from dock.. but, that was the only crappie for @1hr! It was the Pickerel where hot again today- 4+ CP for every crappie for the first 2 hours! I left my pickerel cooler at the house ( and my camera and counter) I did find out bald eagles like pickerel . @ 10am I found some small crappie schooling up and caught a few. 1 was in tux. Overall I guess I caught 10 crappie but only 3 were over 10".. A 11", 14", and a 15! It amazes me how much bigger a 15 is over a 14... I swear it looked 2X bigger! when I held them up. picked up several ringers also, 2 were close to 12" but no citation on them today.

Lots of hook-ups (even though they were CP) and a couple of nice ones (crappie) to boot! Pretty good job. Thanks for the report.

Nice report Charlie. A 15" fish always makes the day.

All the crappie hit very light, sometimes pushing the cork up. Even the largest was hard to tell anything was on line! ( till I tried to get him in boat) Seemed like they were picking up bait and swimming with boat. Was a fun day, had lake to myself until 1pm.

Nice report Charlie,it's been my experience that crappie around docks early morning when sun gets up will go under docks if any depth but are not eating so have to get bait way under docks and that's when shooting jigs shine the best

Congrats--it's always a red-letter day when you bring a 15"+ into the boat! What's the condition of the botanical buffet for the grass carp?

Using DI to get good look at SAV, noticed grass starting to grow all the way out to 13fow, then it disappears. Right now, Its really not as bad as it had been the last 2 yrs., but I have only fished BDR 2 yrs. Richard, do your order directly from BnM? BTW, on my morning walk, I got a report of 2# croaker being caught in river not far from my place here.. I hope to take son out tomorrow to look for them..
