It is a shame there is no public boat ramp there anymore. That is one fun place to fish. I'll add my name to list of those who used to tear up the walleye there. I have tried many times in my boat to access Whitehurst from the LC side with no luck. If you're boat sits low enough you may be able to pull your plug and partially fill your boat. That would allow you to get under the obstacles between the lakes. Then, once in Whitehurst, run your bilge to drain the boat. Even with that trick though, my boat still rides too high to get under the last pipe. I just can't get the trolling motor low enough to clear it. Finally, I haven't tried going through since they did bridge work on Diamond Springs. I believe there may be new obstacles there under the water. I'd sure like to get back in there after the walleye.
