I had the day off so I decided to spend it at Buggs. I only netted 26 crappie but 6 of them were 1lb+ with the biggest three at 1lb 4oz, 1lb 5oz, and 1lb 9oz. (three others at 1lb even) The one that weighed 1lb 5oz was a 14.5" white crappie. Dang thing was long but skinny. All but two were caught 15' to 20' deep over structure either casting a Cajun Cricket or pearl white BGBS or vertical jigging with a wasshoppah tipped with a crappie nibble.

I started in Eastland, briefly stuck my head into Panhandle, then fished Butchers some. Water temp was 55 and when I was out in the main lake I rarely saw another boat. I never caught more than 6 in any one spot. I found some new brush piles in Butchers but they did not produce. Oh well, I love that reservoir and for Dec. 23rd the weather was just about perfect.
