I am guessing FishDoc got it from others. My Grandpa used to say it and the old goat that owned my trailer used to say it. I even have a very old book on fishing that has that saying in it! ( the guy that owned my trailer did rod/reel repair- made lead wieghts and lures, for much of D-ville area)
