the large fish are up as they often do, ahead of the pack ....
if you like large crappie in shallow water ,you best go looking .....
seen some smaller fish this week already showing up to the dance ....
I suggest you use an orange or white jig ....
other colors don't seem to be on the menu currently

I actually can't wait to catch some slabs after I move down there. Not looking forward to the move but I am the fishing, nice catches!

sometimes I make it look pretty easy sir , trust me on this part , the entire state chases slabs bro , there just isn't better eating freshwater fish in these parts ,so don't get sad when you find it ain't all that easy to find a big slab sized one , the poor things get hammered daily in most spots
once you get here, the actaul hunt will begin , you need to find you the right waters and access to them as well ....

if you locate yourself in that area of Texas , it should be rather easy to ketch some big crappie of both species .
i am over in ft worth . Palestine has lots of big crappie in it ,for sure

Assuming we make it there, may have to meet up and have you show me the ropes of Texas fishing. Isn't an awful long trip to Fort Worth from Palestine area
