Agree with Ketchn on shallow early, but I am talking 10" as shallow maybe a little deeper. If you have a lot of trees in your lake the shady side of the trees will hold fish early before the sun gets up much. Once the sun gets up they are doing deeper IMHO! Maybe if you have a nice brush pile in say 15' of water they will be there early too. You can also look for deeper water docks or at least docks that have a little water under them.
