I to have spent many a night fishing behind a lantern. I now use a LED underwater light that I bought at Academy. I have a second light that I turn on for brief periods when I need to do something inside the boat.

I used to use Coleman lanterns hung over the side of the boat and they worked well. I haven't been night fishing in twenty years. What is the most popular type of lights in use today for night Crappie catching?

I use a very bright Green LED that uses Cree LEDs which are the best and brightest in the world, of course American made! I have used several over the last 15+ years and this is by far the only one that is this bright. Here is where it came from...

I have LED light strips around my jon boat and they work well at attracting the plankton and bait fish. The otehr alternative is the green submersible light from Academy as mentioned or a floating light you can get at wal mart for cheap.
