Taking my wife fishing...

I've fished for bass most my life but have recently started crappie fishing. My wife is wanting me to take her crappie fishing and I don't know where to go.

We don't have a boat so it needs to be some place that has a crappie dock or crappie water accessible from the bank.

We live in Menard (about 60 miles South East of San Angelo, 30 miles North of Junction)

Any suggestions???

I was born an raised in Texas. While I was not familiar with your area and so I looked it up on Google maps. I saw that there are two lakes and a reservoir close to San Angelo. The only thing I can recommend is that the two of you load up the gear and just start looking and driving. One thing I do is to just start talking to people in the tackle dept at stores like Wal-Mart,etc. Find out what lakes they go to and where the best place to put in is. They don't have to know you don't have a boat. Just going to these spots may help you find what you are looking for. Hope this helps.
