Default Crappie In The Wind 4-8-2009

Between being beat black and blue by the wind and trolling motor foot switch problems, I was able to catch a few nice crappie. The water temp coming out of Shutes Branch was for the most part 53° which is much lower than the 56° to 59° last week, and the water is still very stained from last weeks flooding.

Nice catch, Rudy. I went out for a little while, but the wind was insane and I went back to the house.

Black Crow you are correct the wind was insane at times but I was able to hide from it most of the time, between it and the toggle switch on the foot controller on my trolling motor going bad ( a $12.48 part ) finally ran me off the water. Then to beat all it took 3 tries to get boat on the trailer because crosswinds kept blowing me off... but did bring dinner home.

Good gracious everyone must took today off work.I got the Stewarts Creek ramp to launch and there was not a parking space available so grass here I came.Started out shallow and got 5-6 mix bag of yellow and crappie. Then went to my deep holes and got about another miix bag of 4-5 yellow and crappie.Wind was kicking but oh well it beats working.

Well I did work a half day then left at 12:00 lunch time heading to the bait shop for some minnows, and you guys are right any time spent fishing is better than working.
