We were there a week ago, after it had turned cold. Water was in the upper 50's. We didn't catch many, but the few were big.

Was there Friday. Water temps range from 58 to 65. We longline trolled. fish are scattered and most seemed suspended from 10 to 18 ft deep. Some are moving shallow. Had one male that had changed colors. All females are thick healthy and full of eggs. Talked to some other guys who had caught 26 keepers the day before trolling crankbaits came back the next and caught 3. Hard to pattern rite now.

They always seem hard to pattern on Watts Bar for some reason ... I do remember the 80's and all the good crappie fishing ! Good luck and let us hear from you about how it works out.
