Thread: ETCC practicing on the chick

We decided to go to the chick to get some practice in for the etcc tournament coming up sept. 19. I know several other members of etcc were on the lake this weekend looking around. I predict it to be a great to tournament with a lot of fish caught. The water is a little cooler than normal for this time of the year and I think the fish will be a little more active. We idled around a lot scouting for new places to fish and we found some. Our fish came deep, mostly 18-20' of water on main river channel ledges holding on stumps or brush. We mostly used bobby garland baby shads and homemade hair jigs, both on 1/16oz. Our biggest fish came on crankbaits. That was the only two white crappie we caught, the others were blacks. All fished caught were released. Saw lots of bass fisherman, but only one other crappie chaser. I am envious of the people that live near this lake and get to fish it regularly.
