Jerry and I fished the night tournament at Normandy with the Middle Tn. crappie club. Man was it hot out. We set up around a blow down at 7:30 and had 2 good ones in the boat by 8:15. Then everything went bad for us. Jerry lost a fish that was for sure over 2Lbs about 6 ft from the boat. Could not reach it with the net. Right after that I lost one that went well over 2lbs. We got a look at it about 4 ft down then she took off and broke my 4lb leader. I wont be using 4lb leaders at night any more. Was pretty disgusted after that. We went to hook up the lights and only could get 1 light to work. So we are without most of our lights and the electronics don't work. We caught 1 more under the light at that spot when the trolling motor quit working also. My boat is in the shop for repairs so we were in Jerry's boat. Apparently we were not as ready as we thought. We could not stay were we were because of the depth of water not allowing us to anchor, 50 ft deep, and boat wakes were pushing us into the brush pile. The bridge was already full so we couldn't tie off there so we went to another spot where we could tie off. Only caught dinks the rest of the night. Ended up with 3 fish to turn in. We had 16 boats in the tournament so it was a great crowd. Check out the middle tn board for full results.
