Another 11+ pounder caught this week by a guy bank fishing. Maybe the same fish? Surely these fish were released by someone and not stocked fish.

I asked TWRA about this (and other larger bass) being caught in this lake. They said only small fish were stocked. The also stated that the larger fish probably came down the creeks during all the major flooding over the past 3 years. I am skeptical of this TWRA assumption as none of the creeks feeding the 1000 acre lake join or are near any major water body or large creek or river that I am aware of. The creeks are natural drainage creeks that fill during rain storms.

Take a look at google maps of the area.

If those large bass got in the lake right after it was stocked then they have had a super buffet to feast on.

Yes there were several ponds built and stocked while the lake was being built and then were flooded as the lake filled. So the bass had several years of growth on them.. Plus some larger bass were placed from other lakes. If you look at the google earth maps in the past you can see several of the ponds. there were 4 up the arm across from the lake access.
