Percy Preist is an absolute mess. The water is very high and every day I have been out the past 2 weeks the wind has been trying. All of my spots that I have caught any fish at this water temp are inundated with trash and debris. Not to mention that the amount of trash in the water interferes with my locator.
Am I doing this wrong or is the water level interfering with the normal spawning cycle? They should be transitioning to spawn by now right? But everything I see is still in 15 to 30 feet of water. With the wind I can not seem to get to them on the beds that I know about. I tried moving from an 1/16 oz jig to heavier weights to get my bait to the fish with the wind but no dice.
I am new to this forum and new to fishing this lake so any advice would be helpful. It is not like other places I have fished where you could fish every possible location in an afternoon. I am understanding that this lake is beyond diverse.
frustrated.

i went thursday and the water was up in the trees on the bank. the water was still 6' above normal summer pool. we caught close to 100 blue gills, 1 smallmouth, and we caught 1 crappie at the end of the day that was 12".
Personally, I think the main spawn is almost over but could be wrong. Love to hear what other people think.
last week i was still catching them deep FULL of eggs ^
Burn unit... Went out today early to beat the wind that seems to be coming in on the afternoons. Much better. caught about 12 (okay maybe 10) but only 4 keepers. they are still running deep where I was fishing and yes they had eggs. This weather and the height of the water has got to have them spooked from the spawning beds.
Does any one frequent the areas south of fate saunders? Thats the furthest I have gone. Launched at the ramp just to the south of there. Wondering if that is a legit place to fish or if I would be wasting my time.
