nice catch and good report, going to try my luck trolling for some of the early spawners that might have moved out to some of the mid summer flats near deeper water in the morning!

We did not know how it was going to go today. Whole lot of variables to consider. High water, cooler water, spillways wide open at the dam etc.
We tried several different ways of fishing. They all worked. Nothing was better than any other way. We fished banks, blowdowns, riprap, delta structure and drift fished. Ended the day catching 81 with 32 keepers. The Crappie were scattered between spawning and moving back to open water.
The avg. water temp. was 65*. I used several colors of BGBS on a 1/32 oz jig. Opening night with a taillight seemed the best.
Archie showed out today. He caught a 2 or 3 lb., 18-1/2" lm Bass and the 30th keeper Crappie (13-1/4"of the day. Congrats to him.

Good job guys thanks for the report. Sailfish called me and found a few up on the Bar. going back to some of our old haunts.
Another great job of catching crappie for you guys. Congrats Archie.![]()
Congrats on a good day. Shows some experience/confidence there to try different ways and still catch 'em.![]()
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
Sounds encouraging. Good job.
Great looking mess!
