It's still TVA on both sides of the border, guess they could have different policies on each side, but I kind of doubt it. When I called the lady said anything going in TVA controlled area had to have 26a permit.

I couldn't make the shindig but talked to him a little while at the boat ramp a couple weeks ago and via e-mail several times in the spring. He's good people as far as I'm concerned.

TVA just runs the dams. For permits to place structure, you need to contact the Corps of Engineers. They're the ones responsible for keeping the rivers navigable. I personally don't worry about permits. Just use common sense and don't put it where someone could get hurt.

Use common sense was basically what TVA folks told me. I got my dock permit, excavation permit, and landscaping permit thru TVA at the Paris Office. But the permits involve COE and environmental studies some how or another. I just paid the money and did the stuff per their drawings. A lot of stuff at our Lake house is grandfathered in. Wonder if my brushpiles are grandfathered in? ha

I'm fairly sure TVA has authority up to X' msl on all of Kentucky Lake, but it doesn't really matter to me, I'm just trying to help those that are concerned with the permits.
