I would first like to wish each of you the very best as many struggle with the aftermath of Helene. Prayers for you all in need of help. With the massive NC and upstate SC floods the Santee Cooper lakes were pulled down 6 feet to make room for influx of flood water waters heading down stream. Due to power outage at my plant, I was given both Monday and Tuesday off. I decided on Monday to head to the lake and mark stumps for navigation purposes. I took along one jig pole and a few jigs to sample fish a few brush piles. As it turned out the brush bite was absolutely on fire. I caught around 100 crappie on Monday. 200 or so on Tuesday. Lots of 7-9” fish, but many good’uns as well. I had the best of times both days with pleasant weather and little to no competition from other anglers. Goes to show, you can’t catch’em if you don’t get out and try. Here’s a few pics.
The low water conditions.
Tuesday’s limit.
The high muddy water rolling in as I was heading out
