I’m in Morganton,NC. We still don’t have power. The expectation is 3-4 more days. There’s broke power poles and downed lines everywhere. A tree fell into our house and crushed my “project“ Jon boat. It and the trailer now look like bananas. Name: IMG_1647.jpg

Hate that about your house and boat. Hopefully they get your power on soon. Sure got hit hard in western NC and Tennessee.

Our boat ramp at the farm in Ft. Lawn. It’s out there where that leaning tree is. Catawba River . Name: IMG_6209.jpg

Wow! Hope your power comes back on soon and the damage is minimul to your house. I took a ride to check out my local lake (clark hill) and when I crossed the bridge below the shoals on Broad the river was running red. And this is the lake, not the river. I went down to the boat landing on Pistol and when I got to the turn I couldnt even find the road from hugh trees being down and across the entrance to the boat landing. I seen two big oaks laying close together in the road and no telling how many more there is.

The website says Clark Hill got 9.8" of rain and the lake rose almost 6 & 1/2 feet. She's now just a foot from full pool.

Update: We just got power back in Morganton and we got power back in GA yesterday.
Butch, when you crossed the broad river bridge towards Pistol, my house in GA is in the LBK neighborhood there. There's trees down all over the place so I'll be sawing away this weekend. A neighbor told me the house was spared, but the security cameras on the house show fallen trees nearby.
We lost the entire freezer of stripers and crappie so I guess that'll make us fish a little harder to replenish the loss. Usually, we donate to a local church for a spring fish fry but this year it'll be tough to get enough by then.

Sounds like lots of work ahead Chris. Hate you lost everything in the freezer but atleast those trees missed your house. Thanks God for that! I'm surprised you still have a dock by the looks of that river!
