    Default Trip to Russell

I'm planning on going to Russell next weekend. I am planning on Long lining. Haven't been able to get out this year so far. Has anyone fished Russell lately?

I haven't been to Russell but have fished the Hill and the fish are moving towards the shallows. Flats in the 13'-15' range should be pretty good by now. Good luck....and post your results if you don't mind.

How muddy was the water at the hill? I fish Hartwell 3 times a week, just switching it up and trying something different! Thanks

I went to Russell last Saturday, ones we caught were in 10ft flats and were caught spider rigging minnows just off the bottom and a few were on the bank. Should be even shallower now

Ive been fishing a pretty good distance down the lake (Ga Little River) and the water has a stain to it but not muddy. Id say clarity was approx. 2' deep. I'd guess that anywhere on the upper end would be 6" to 1' of visibility now, but that's merely a guess.

Going to Hartwell again in the morning. As HOT as Hartwell is right now, i am surprised you are going elsewhere.

Never saw so many crappie being caught on Hartwell as this year.

Just rode over to the Coldwater Creek boat ramp (the back of the creek) and the parking lot was about half full which tells me it was crowded in that area. Maybe theyre catching though. Hopefully someone will report the water surface temps tonight from their today's trip.

Cousin said it was 60 yesterday. Not sure which creek he was in tho. But he really caught the whoppers at Russell!
