I put in at Nivens around 9:00 and started running through the obstacle course of 2x6's and dock posts floating in the water. I made it to a spot in search of the elusive catfish and hopefully a few crappie. I set out my two Penns rigged for cats, and as the last crappie pole went out the first crappie pole went down. Good deal, looks like crappie is on the menu. Then all H3!! broke loose. The little micro 33 started screaming and the rod was bent in half. No crappie.....big catfish!!! After managing to get him up through the brushpile, I could work the drag a little better and nursed him to the surface. Now that he's on top time to net him.......but the net was left at home. Ok we are going to do this the hard way, so I leadered the fish to the boat and snap. The line broke but the fish was belly up in the water, so nothing to do but go elbow deep in water and grab him. Luckily, the fish gods were smiling on us and the fish made it to the live well. Can't say it was the most fun I've ever had landing a fish, but it's right up there. Nice cat on a 10" BnM, 6lb test and a zebco micro 33.

Very nice, good go on the landing.
Good job
That had to be some fun !
Thanks for sharing.
Good job. I discovered that if you use a bogo grip the catfish goes completely still. I pulled a couple of 30+ pounders in using it. Wasn't by choice, neither one would fit in my crappie net!!
Like your skiff, I'm just swapping over to one from my Duracraft jon boat. Mine is much smaller than yours though.
Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men
Nice slider!Always fun on light tackle, too tempting to horse them in with heavy tackle.
Thanks for the report and smile! Working so no fishing today
Excellent!!
