Thread: Lynches river question

Has anyone ever fished for crappie on lynches river? Big pee dee? Or little per dee? If so any tips would be helpful

I've never heard of anyone crappie fishing it. I feel sure they are some in it. I live way up where it starts and as a kid I use to wade fish for the red breast,set bank hooks for some catfish and know some folks who use to set nets for the sucker run. I haven't fished it in a long time or heard anything about the suckers. I bet with the dark water down your way the crappie would look dark.

only thing I know about Lynches river is they used to have some good Blue Grass pickings there years ago
don't know if they still do but would like to find out if they do.

Thanks guys, i normally put in near hwy 52 but also right down the road from johnsonville and never tried it, any tips on river fishing for crappie?

River fishing can be fun. Look for crappie to be on the down side of laydowns, breaks and points. Remember crappie always face into the current and attracts bait that swims buy so throw upriver and letting you jigs float past where you may think the crappie are works. Live bait and jigs fished under a float 16" or so down will help in control of your offerings. If you come across feeder creeks you may find crappie using them for spawning grounds. I hear tipping jigs with crickets makes things interesting in the dark waters of the low country waters.? May give it a try. Hope you find them biting, good luck and let us know what works for you.
