We have a Brothers. It is a piece of crap. The ink is expensive too, even at Wally World.

OK guys, my printer has crapped out and I need another one. Trick is I want one that uses cheap ink from Ebay. Anybody know of one like that? Thanks.

Kodak has run a number of ads saying that the ink their printers use is much cheaper than any other brand. I have not compared to see, but soon as I have to buy another printer I will check to see if it is true.

I have used many through and home and work applications. If you can get by with just a black and white printer get the HP LaserJet P1102w. It's fast, the laser printer uses much less ink. The print cartridges are large and run about 60 bucks. Depending on the amount of use, you can get over a year, or more worth of printing before the need for ink arises again.

laser is the way to go for cheaper printing. I print a lot and use an Hp Laser Jet, compared to the ink jet it's faster and the toner lasts a lot longer
Check out the Canon Pixma printers. I have gone and it's the best printer I have ever owned. I buy generic cheap ink off Amazon and it works great.
We got a Pixma. So far so good. Bout 8 months now.We dont print much so not sure bout ink cartridges.
I bought a Pixma MG5620 it scans, copies and prints. I just bought all new ink cartridges for it at Canon Pixma MG5620 Ink Cartridges - 4inkjets and it cost me around 30 bucks. I have had it for around 6 months now and like it.
You can't catch fish from the couch.
I have a Kodak about 3 yrs old. Ink is not cheap and aftermarket cartridges won't work. That was an expensive lesson. Will not go back with Kodak.

I thought the thing was printing in Japanese but after some looking I found the problem. The printer is full of dust and needs a cleaning. So.....not being a printer mechanic.....I will attempt tearing it apart and giving it a good cleaning before purchasing another. Not sure it will ever work again with me doing that but what do I have to loose.![]()
