Default Had a good weekend on Greenwood this weekend

Got to fish greenwood this weekend fished 3 days Thursday, Friday, and Saturday-- Thursday was the toughest didn't get a fish in the boat until after 12 o'clock and then only managed 5 fish' they where in 20 to 25' of water, Friday seem to be a little better now that I knew what depth to target so 1st creek I pulled ( I was longlining) I caught 4 not sure of the name but it was down below state park on the Chappell's side of the lake. Went to spot #2 up from lighthouse and the Wind found me and I only managed 1 in there but it was a brute, (1.95). After about 1hr of the wind I put the boat on the trailer and headed home. Saturday everything fell into place and we my daughter and I caught @ 50 crappie fishing the creek I caught the 4 in Friday never left that spot all day. Fish were still holding from 20' to this time 40' the water temp was @ 48 which had dropped for 53 on Thursday but the fish still bit pretty good. It didn't matter the color as long as it had either black or Chartreuse in the jig, both curly tails and sliders work the same for us.

mod's: you can leave in general if not breaking any rules cause I don't mind ???

It is fine to post on the open forum, some just doesn't want to put some info out for anyone to read. It is your choice.

Sounds like a great way to spend three days. Fishing has been tough but it great to hear Saturday paid off for both of you. A fish hitting close to the 2 lb mark with get you excited about going back and finding more of them. Thanks for posting the report, enjoyed reading it

That was a good day Saturday in anybody' book. Thanks for sharing. We fished greenwood sat on the lower end and only had 1 crappie 6 perch and 5 stripers. We were long lining in creeks above state park. All the fish we caught was deep. What kind of boat do you fish in. I have a blue and silver champion walleye boat. If you see me stop and say hi. Probably going back to greenwood Friday and give it another shot.

    Sinkermaker,

This is my rig you do the same I never mind talking to folks on the water, week before last had someone on Wylie walk up to the wife and ask her if that was my boat and called me by my Crappie.com name; had a good talk with that gentleman and we enjoyed talking fishing with him too. The too in the picture is my oldest daughter Amanda and my nephew John coming into the weigh in of our annual kids crappie tourney on Murray several years back.
