I have much more confidence in long lining... but when I have a fishing partner I spider rig more, I consider LL a one man setup, when spider rigging both can set up front have equal number rods out so equal oppurtunity for success.

My favorite method is single pole jigging, it is the simplest way of fishing and requires the least amount of equipment but I will do any method depending on the conditions and time of year.

My favorite is single poling. Day in and day out I believe it's the most productive year round method to catch fish because it allows you to stay on the move and develop a pattern. My #2 is tightlining.
I have done tightlining and it is fun especially with kids in boat hauling in perch. Just started to learn longlinning and it is fun. But give me a single pole maneuvering the jig above, around or in a brush pile and see your line go limp or feel the light tick makes me feel like 18 again. Just like a song (It feels like the first time.) It never gets old.

Wow....single polling gets a lot of votes. I guess I will have to do some research, reading and asking for advice on single pole jigging in the open waters of the lakes. I've never tried. I love to single pole jig (thump) but I have only done it in the swamps above Santee.
I worked on installing my HDS 8 and installed a new transducer. Got the structure scan working and I am gonna spend a day looking for brush piles and try jigging them and see what happens. Soon as the weather clears up.
So CB I guess you would be using a 10ft pole when you single pole? Thanks
I like the red and black battery cable system!
