Thread: Boat Project

Finally ran across a stick steer boat after having a couple sold before I could get to look at them. I did not realize used stick steer boats were so hard to find. This one popped up right here in Lexington. The gentleman selling it had bought it new and, due to several surgeries over the years he had used it very little. He told me he believed the motor(1999 40HP Yamaha) had less than 50 hours on it. It has been sitting in his garage for the past 18 months and he finally admitted to himself that he would never use it again.
So I became the proud owner of a 1999 Duracraft Stick Steer, 40 Yamaha with T&T, sitting on a Wesco galvanized trailer. I am taking it to my mechanic in the morning to have him go through it and change to foot oil, water pump, plugs and clean the carbs. Not sure what we will run in to as the guys used ethanol gas treated with Stabil, but sitting that long, who knows.
Anyway, I am looking forward to rigging it out and getting it on the water.
Here are a couple of pics and yes my Tracker in the background will be for sale shortly, but first I am moving the I-Pilot and HDS7 to the Duracraft.
All this assuming I did not get a lemon with a bad motor.
