It doesn't hurt to check the back waters if you can get to them. Crappie seem to be changing their spawning times, I know water temp and daylight hours has a lot to do with the spawn but we are finding crappie running to the shallows sooner that they should be over the last three years. Whites and Blacks don't spawn at the same time so you will find spawning crappie all spring. Can't catch em setting on the couch so go every chance you get.
