These cool nights we are currently having will push some fish shallow. During the last cool down a couple of weeks ago, we managed to catch some fine fish in waters as shallow as 7 feet. Brush is by far the best structure to fish, some fish can be had in both the standing timber and floating vegetation as well. For many, Santee is a frustrating lake to fish due to the abundance of structure. Stay focused, pay attention to detail, and fish fast. The aggressive fish will hit quickly, if a few are caught, repeat what you done on similar areas, and structures for the best results.
