    Default Rocket fish scaler

Are any of you familiar with item. You put your fish in it and pull it behind the boat and it scales the fish as it spins.I remember years ago a friend of the family had one and he said worked great. My wife bought me one at a yard sell yesterday, but I only fillet my crappies. so I don't need it, after looking on ebay I was shocked to see they were priced from 70- 90 dollars. What is yalls opinion on a fair price before I list it in the classifieds. It is in excellent shape by the way thanks

Gabowman use to have one and may still have it, seems his came unhooked from the boat one night when he was heading back to the ramp? Either way he will be able to help you with a price.

I have one that I use often for scaling crappie and white perch. It does a wonderful job on these fish. You have to pull perch farther to get them scaled. You can put about 50 fish per batch. If you cut the heads off which I normally do they are almost ready to cook after about a mile pull. Price I can't help with but should be easy to sell.

You are correct on the price sir. So...that being said, I guess you can ask whatever you want under that price. Guess it depends on whether it still has good galvanizing, dents, etc.

Remus, that's exactly what I used to do with mine. Now I fillet too because I dont want to be cutting heads (and getting blood) in the carpet in my boat. Ronnie, I did loose one which came unhooked in a turmoil of waves so I bought another one and changed out the snap for a chain link which cannot come loose. Allen keeps mine and uses it quite often. All that is needed after pulling the fish is to rinse off the lake water and throw into the meal and grease. They work perfect.

I might add....if you clean alot of fish on the bone to fry these baskets are a MUST HAVE!
