    Actually what you are seeing is the difference between a $15 rod and a $45 one. All the rods except the top two are Pinnacle Limits that I got from Grizzly Jig for $15 each. That is a great deal and a good rod for the money. They work well for tight lining which is why I got them. The top 2 are B&M Graphite Crappie Jig poles. As you can see, the Limits, which have less graphite in them, sag a bit over their length, whereas the B&M do not and it is why they are better for single pole jigging and probably other applications. I always back off the drag setting on my reels when I store them to lessen the chance of them sticking so their is no tension on the line or pole.
    Also, the garage is situated so it does not get direct sunlight so they should not get too hot.
    You make a valid point however and everyone should give that consideration when storing their rods.
