Wylie crappie love the jigs I fish with! Anyone got a reading on water temp today? I am thinking they are going to cut on like a light switch with weather like this.

I'll check the temp for you in the morning, Remus and I are going to catch all of them in front of the pier . We got jigs, minnows and grenades and harpoons for the ones that surface like whales.

I have a big chemistry exam tomorrow, but afterwards I am going to go chase some too. You might see me at the pier.

Water temp was 60* . We tight lined jigs and minnows ended up 6 nice crappie and 30 white perch. Lot of throw backs. Saw other boats trolling but at faster pace than us didn't see anything being hauled over the side. Wind ran us off the water just to much to try to control speed and heading. Maybe next trip will be better.

Thanks BigDawgg. It's heating up at the pier. A lot of people were catching fish yesterday, but it is not great yet. Several were caught that looked like they were going to pop, so it is likely they will be very shallow in the next few days. My biggest was about 11 inches and weighed in at just under a lb.

Also, the report is that the WP are on fire right now. It seems you found that out.

Thanks for the reports! What was the water like? I was passing thru recently and the water was dingy.

Still dingy, up in B. Allison but fishable. If it don't rain it will be good in a few more days. Little Allison was not as bad. Good luck.
