I understand exactly what you mean Jimmy but my dog wasnt just a pet but also my security around the house. I feel she was the reason my house hasnt been robbed like the rest of my neighbors that dont have dogs.

Sorry to hear about your dog, Butch....I will keep my eyes/ears out for ya. Dread going down that road....but my Jack Russell is 12 years old and my shorthair pointer is almost 9. Probably won't have any more after those two.....

It's always hard loosing a pet.
I too recommend checking the rescues, even in surrounding States. There are a lot of good dogs in all breeds needing a home.

Sorry for your loss, I hope you get a good puppy that will be close to your Lucy's qualities, she was a beautiful dog. I feel for you in your sadness, I have lost lots of pets over the years too! Hope you find the one quickly to help the with healing process.

I know your hurt Butch. We lost our girl last fall. But the best medicine is another one to love and care for. They will always be a spot for Lucy a new cant fill ,but they sure help get on with it. Will look around for ya. Got couple of friends that work for rescues in the area.
