How did you catch your PB? Longlining, tightlining, jigging, nightstalk, minnow and bobber? My PB was a 17.5 incher from Kentucky Lake. Caught on a 1/4 oz yellow jig with a chartreuse curly tail while drift fishing a rockstrewn flat. We would bounce the jigs over the bottom and pick up several on each pass. I didn't carry a scale in those days but she was full of eggs and I'm guessing over 3 pounds. I would love to hear your recollection of your PB.

Politicians should be required to wear their corporate sponsors uniform like NASCAR !
2.25 lbs casting a jig. I've caught several good ones this way.
2.75 lbs longlining jigs at Russell last year.
I have caught two fish over three pounds. The first was 3.52 pounds in Little River, SC on the hill. It was caught tight lining 2 to 3 feet deep on a popsicle AWD bait. The weather had warmed up in February to 70 degrees or better for several days and it pushed the fish up so high that you couldn't see them on a sounder. What was a pain is when you caught a fish you had to let line out by pulling against the drag so you get the fish in the boat. I found the fish by accident by being in the wrong spot. I should have been in long cane but I glad it worked out. We had two limits (60) in the boat by 1200 and were culling until 1500. What a memorable day.
The second was caught in long cane on the hill while trolling. It weighed 3.27lbs and was caught on a acid rain slider. Long cane is where I learned to troll from my father-n-law and his favorite bait for long cane is acid rain (he calls it fire and ice for some reason). The fish is being held in front of a football if you can't tell.
My biggest this year is 2.42lbs on the hill in fishing creek.

I've caught several fish over 2 lbs nightstalking, spider rigging and trolling on Lake Russell and Clark Hill. My biggest fish was a 17.5" white out of Clark Hill spider rigging...problem was it was during the hot summer months and the fish didnt have a belly at all. That fish weighed 2#'s even. My heaviest to date was a black that weighed 2 lb 6 oz. and I caught that one longlining in the shallows.
16" right at 2lb on orange and yellow 1/64oz hair jig casting to a dock. Lost it the week before lifting it over the cable across the slip. Ripped the right side of the mouth, see it in slow motion even now. Guess who I caught the next week with a half healed right side lips?
